For many, many years, I identified as part of the “New Age” movement. Pretty happy as a New Ager and hanging out with all my other New Ager-type friends. And being part of that was an important step in my spiritual path.
But today I woke up and I was thinking about being a “New Ager” versus being a “Christian”.
The big difference is with New Age there is no accountability. There is nobody or nothing keeping you accountable. Not even God is keeping you accountable.
So, when you exist as a New Ager, you are kind of la de da, take what you want, then toss away what you don’t want. There is no one making you be responsible and take personal responsibility for your actions, yourself, your emotions.
And that is what Jesus does for you. Jesus holds you accountable. Jesus makes you a better person.
New Agers and the New Age movement don’t put any of that kind of stepping-up accountability onto you.
And so, for me, having become a follower of Jesus, I now have accountability. I have a model and I have something very specific to drive towards. I have Jesus leading me to become a better person.

I have decided to make this a personal diary of my thoughts about faith and spirituality. If you are reading this, and want to know these thoughts, feelings, and views not so conventional views, then stick around. If not, then unsubscribe from RSS or from my email list now. If you are looking for my business tips and training, then go to www.ChristinaHills.com or www.WebsiteCreationWorkshop.com.
This is primarily a site created for myself, so that I could have a record of my spiritual path and the things that I am learning. And you, dear reader, are my witness.

If you have been opposed to the idea of arranged marriages, then you need to watch this film: “Arranged” by Cicala Filmworks
As part of my spiritual and religious quest that I have been on since Dec 2013 to understand God and the differences between the world religions, I stumbled across this movie on Netflix while searching for something interesting to watch that had a spiritual theme to it.
See trailer below
I first thought this would be a movie showing the horrors of arranged marriages. But instead it was a tender film about a Jewish woman and a Muslim woman who are both at the age where her parents are arranging suitable husbands for them. Instead of slamming the practice of arranged marriages, the film shows how it can work out for people.
And how people of different religious and cultural backgrounds can become good friends.
I give this film a big thumbs up!

I have decided to split out my personal blog with my business blog. I’ve moved ChristinaHills.com to ChristinaHills.org. The .org site will be more of a personal site (which it was already), and ChristinaHills.com will be my portal site connecting to all my other sites online.
That site is not yet live, as I’m working on it now. … So many sites to build, so little time! 😉

I’m gearing up for the next Website Creation Workshop semester! Registration will start Tuesday and I’m very excited. I’ve got a new technique to integrate Twitter and WordPress and Facebook all at the same time, and I’m posting a blog post here now to see if it will work.
Here is how I’m doing it:
I have twitter tools installed to post to twitter when I make a blog post here.
I have twitter and facebook setup so that when I put a #fb in my tweets, it sends it to my facebook profile.
So if I post to this blog, you should see it on my facebook wall.
